For introducers and referral partners

A careful introduction is a form of judgement.

This is one you can make with confidence. Pennine Pacific gives established businesses an independent read on where value is leaking out of the operation and where growth is trapped inside, then helps put it right.

01 / Who Pennine Pacific is

An independent operating firm. Three services, one relationship.

Pennine Pacific works with established businesses that have outgrown the way they operate. We find where a business is losing value and where its growth opportunities sit, then help it act on both. The work runs across three services, held together by one relationship with the same senior people throughout.

01 / Diagnose

An independent read

A fixed-fee review of the whole operation, covering both the value leaking out and the growth not yet captured.

02 / Fix

The priority changes

Working with the client's team to implement the priority changes the evidence supports.

03 / Run

Senior leadership

Senior operating leadership while the changes take hold, then a handover back to the client.

Each service is scoped separately. The client decides whether to continue after each step. Nothing is locked in.
02 / Who to introduce

Established and substantial, now feeling its growth.

The shape of the business

Not a startup. Typically A$5m to A$50m in revenue, around 30 to 500 staff, with enough complexity to span multiple sites, brands, entities or channels. Often founder or family led. Some are growing quickly. Others are preparing deliberately for a transaction, a succession or a step change in scale.

Where value may be lost
  • Capable people are stretched by recurring operational issues that keep pulling them off the work that matters.
  • Margin is eroded quietly by errors, delays or rework.
  • Leadership lacks a timely, reliable view of how the business is really performing.
  • Critical decisions depend on a small number of key individuals.
Where opportunity may be missed
  • Existing platforms or capabilities are underused.
  • A channel, a customer segment or a product line could be contributing more than it does.
  • Data the business already holds is not being used to inform decisions.
  • A healthy business is preparing for its next stage and wants to go into it in good order.
03 / What it looks like from where you sit

You know your client. Here is the shift, in your language.

The same underlying picture reads differently through each adviser's lens. These are the signs worth an introduction, by profession.

Accountants and business advisers

What you may be seeing: the numbers are sound, yet the business feels harder to run than its size should require.

  • Management reporting arrives later than you would like, or takes real effort to pull together each month.
  • Margins are slipping in ways the accounts describe but do not fully explain.
  • The owner is working longer hours as the business grows rather than fewer.
Why it helps your clientWe look inside the operation that sits behind the numbers, so the improvements you would like to see in next year's accounts have somewhere to come from.

Corporate advisers, business brokers and exit planners

What you may be seeing: a good business that will not present at its best under scrutiny, or command the price it should.

  • The business depends heavily on the owner or a few key people, which a buyer will discount for.
  • Operational risk or fragile process is likely to surface in due diligence.
  • There is clear upside in the story that has not yet been made real inside the operation.
Why it helps your clientWe help tighten the operation and reduce key-person risk ahead of a process, so the business is more defensible in diligence and worth more when it goes to market.

Commercial lawyers

What you may be seeing: recurring friction that shows up as legal work but has an operational root.

  • The same disputes, claims or contract problems keep recurring across sites or suppliers.
  • A restructure, an acquisition or an integration needs an operating model to land into, not just the documents.
  • Governance or accountability is unclear once you move below the board.
Why it helps your clientWe address the operational cause behind the recurring issue, so the matter is less likely to come back to your desk in another form.

Bankers, commercial lenders and finance brokers

What you may be seeing: a borrower whose performance does not yet match its potential or its facility.

  • Cash conversion or working capital is tighter than the business's revenue would suggest.
  • Growth has outpaced the systems and controls meant to support it.
  • Forecasts and the reporting behind them could be more reliable.
Why it helps your clientWe help the business operate more predictably and make fuller use of what it already has, which strengthens the performance and the reporting a lender relies on.

Private equity, family offices, boards and non-executive directors

What you may be seeing: a business where the plan is clear but execution inside the operation is the constraint.

  • The value-creation plan is agreed, yet delivery on the ground is slower than expected.
  • The board lacks an independent, evidence-based view of where operational value sits.
  • Management is capable but stretched. A period of senior operating support, without a permanent hire, would help.
Why it helps your clientWe provide an independent read and, where wanted, senior operating leadership to carry the plan through, then hand accountability back.

Wealth advisers and financial planners

What you may be seeing: a client whose personal wealth is heavily tied to a single operating business.

  • Much of the client's net worth sits inside one business that depends on their daily involvement.
  • The client is thinking about stepping back, succession or eventual sale, without a clear runway.
  • The value of the business could be strengthened well before any transaction.
Why it helps your clientWe help make the underlying business less dependent on the owner and worth more over time, which protects the asset at the centre of the plan you are looking after.
04 / How we protect your relationship

Your relationship stays yours.

An introduction from you is a considered act. We treat it that way.

We work in operations. We do not do tax, law, financial advice or your own specialism, so we sit alongside you rather than in your place. We keep you informed as far as your client is comfortable with, we report to the client, then hand accountability back to them when our work is done. Because we are independent and have nothing of our own to sell, no software, no product, no panel, the advice stays clean and points only at what is best for the business.

For accountants in particular: we are not another accountant. We do not touch your compliance work or your advisory relationship. We work on the operation behind the numbers, which is the part you would like to see improve.
05 / One proof point

An eight-week diagnostic. A seven-figure picture.

An established multi-site education provider, in the tens of millions in annual revenue, asked us for an independent diagnostic. We delivered it in eight weeks. Growth had outpaced the operating model. Most of what we found had nothing to do with technology.

A$1m to A$2m
a year of recoverable value
A$1.5m to A$3.2m
of value there to be realised

These are indicative estimates, subject to confirmation against audited financials. They are not a forecast or a guarantee of results for any other client.

06 / How an introduction works

A warm introduction is enough. We take it from there.

You do not need to diagnose the problem or pick a service. You do not need to be sure.

01
You introduce

A warm introduction, with no obligation on your client to proceed.

02
We listen

A confidential conversation about the business, its context and what matters to the owner.

03
We agree the scope

Diagnose, Fix or Run, with the scope, the fees and the intended outcomes agreed upfront.

04
We deliver

Senior accountability, clear communication throughout, delivery against the scope we agreed.

07 / Make an introduction

Have someone in mind?

Tell us who to expect and how best to reach you. We will handle the conversation with the care your relationship deserves.

Introduce a client

We use your details only to follow up on this introduction. See our privacy policy.
Thank you, that is with us. We will be in touch and handle the conversation with the care your relationship deserves.
Referral arrangements

An introduction from you should be driven by one thing: it helps your client. We do not expect you to make one for a fee. Where a referral arrangement is appropriate and permitted by your professional obligations and by applicable law, we are glad to agree one. It will be settled and disclosed before the introduction is made, never after.
